All physique photographers were well aware that it was illegal to send photographs depicting male genitals through the U.S. postal system. They had two options—apply paint to the print to cover the penis of a nude model or require models to wear a posing pouch or g-string. In this photograph the men are both covered sufficiently to be “legal” (though despite such efforts to stay within the law, many physique photographers were taken to court to face obscenity charges).
