When Alfred Kinsey died in August 1956 at the age of 62, the editor of One magazine chose to dedicate that month's issue to the world famous sex researcher, whose work revealed the prevalence of homosexuality in the United States. The editor also noted that Dr. Kinsey was the magazine's first subscriber outside the Los Angeles region.
