Dell Webb and Leland “Larry” MacPhail purchased the New York Yankees baseball team in 1945, and Bucky Harris was manager of the team when the Yankees won the World Series in 1947. Thomas skillfully altered this original newspaper clipping to add a distinct element of homoeroticism as well as humor to the image.
